On the Industrial world of Clarlorn, three independant kill teams investigate reports of an alien disturbance!

What is this 8th Edition 40k Kill Team doing on an oldhammer blog? Well just because the models I paint are oldhammer doesn't mean they can't be used in more modern games. As it came to be on a Bank Holiday afternoon where four squads would do battle.

Yes that is a kill team mat combined with space crusade boards!

All the models expect the Eldar guardians & the Lictor are painted by me (the nurgle space marines are very old so the painting quality isn't great but fine for the tabletop)

Original plan was a five turn game, due to time constraints, rule research and setup it instead ended on turn three.

Enough with the filler, let's introduce the teams:

An Ork walks into a bar ....

... a squig fungus beer please, my good man.

Ah Orks, you have to love the sheer resilience of the greenskin race that war amongst the stars. No matter if they are stomping on Space Marines, Eldar, Tyranids or other races it is always done with joy and glee on there faces.

Fist bump Ork for the win :)

This guy is actually one of the Weirdboy Warphead Minderz that was released, back when Warpheads needed a bodyguard so they didn't charge off with the lads and make everyone's head explode in a glorious technicolor display not far from the end of Kingsman.

That fist bump was a bit too orky! 'Ouch'!

The only issue I had was his left hand which at some point in the past got on the wrong end of some polystyrene cement glue. To solve this I have gone with a battle grazed look to his glove.

I gots me' trusty club, for some krumpin!

As for painting him it is similar in the way I painted the other Goff orks. A white undercoat, followed by black for the armour and gore red for the cloth, with highlights of codex grey and evil sunz red. Metal areas have boltgun metal with a black wash. Various browns for the pouches and club. Nothing too special here but good to get this kind of dorky looking Ork finished.

Until next time ...  when the bugs from space arrive!??

Oh no, evil car driving goblins distracted me!

Oh wow it has been a while since I made a blog post. The reason for that is (well many) but includes new video games, holidays in far flung islands off the coast of Africa & a different tabletop game that has caught my attention.

Yep this is Gaslands and it is really cool. Nothing like hitting the nitro like Vin Diesel in Fast and Furious, racing forward, only to ram into the back of a flamethrower equipped van driven by a nomadic parcel delivery worker.
